Welcome to PR 2.0

So, I guess you’ve noticed.  I love fish.  And dogs (but that’s another blog entry entirely).

Fish are graceful, elegant and calming.  But they have to keep moving so water flows over their gills, extracting the oxygen, so they can live.

PR stays alive in much the same way.  The industry has to keep moving in order to stay relevant and viable.  While marketing as a professional practice is constantly evolving and adapting, clearly, social media marketing is the new wave in communications and perhaps the best “fish” analogy that this industry must keep moving or risk going belly-up.

TMA continues to keep moving, and the debut of this new website is proof of that.  With this new website, we introduce the concept of PR 2.0, the thought that publicists have become publishers, thanks to the emergence of social media marketing.  You now have the opportunity to speak with constituents as opposed to at them as we do with PR 1.0.

Of course, the most powerful marketing effort is a robust combination of PR 1.0 and PR 2.0.  Yes, we still do press releases, but the concept of stating “For Immediate Release” is so 2005.

So welcome to the world of PR 2.0 where Facebook is your online billboard … Twitter is an online cocktail party … and LinkedIn is your online Chamber of Commerce.

Thanks for visiting our new site.  We hope you’ll come back often.  Now, go ahead.  Dive on into the site and explore!
